“The women in our family pass down jewellery from generation to generation as a method of long term prosperity. For me, this holds incredible memories, immeasurable value and further cements the diversity and richness of our culture. I know what you are thinking, so why jewellery? Well in our culture (Hinduism), Laxmi is the God of wealth and prosperity, which is typically represented through gold or jewellery. Till this day, I continue to wear jewellery dating back to 1908 and with it the struggles of those strong women who have worn this jewellery before me. I believe the path to honour the past generation is through our future generation. For us, this is our son, Aryan (or Ari for short). Thus the Ari Edit was created.
